Crackpots Mosaic Trail
Another Community Art Project!
Kirkby Malzeard Home Page Village Arts Page Footpaths Page

Twenty-two mosaics were made in 1997 by members of the local community who met each week at the Kirkby Malzeard Mechanics Institute under the expert guidance of Rural Arts North Yorkshire. These mosaics were sited along the way of a six and a half mile long walk around Dallowgill Moor.

In 2007 a team of volunteers, including some of the original makers, organised by Kirkby Malzeard Women's Institute and guided by Rural Arts refurbished all the mosaics as some were becoming eroded through time and weather.

A leaflet with a map and details of all the mosaics on the trail is available from Kirkby Stores, price 25p.
