MILLENNIUM HOUSE BANNER

The Highside Stitchers have made a beautiful Millennium Banner depicting a map of the village. Local people have sponsored the Stitchers to embroider an image of their house, which has been sewn onto a large background that is decorated with local flowers, scenes and wildlife. All the money donated through the sponsorship was generously given to the Mechanics Institute Refurbishment Fund. The Millennium House Banner is now displayed on the opposite wall to the original Banner in the Mechanics Institute Main Hall and is now awaiting its final framing.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES

The Highside Stitchers Group has now basically been wound up, but the Knitters & Natterers Group has evolved from the original Stitchers. The Knitters & Natterers meet fortnightly in the Ebenezer Chapel and make various items such as small Teddies and knee rugs for use in the Ripon area and also for sending further afield to Romania.
