Ceramic Painting Class – Mondays – 1.30pm

This meets during the winter months and new students of all ages are welcome. Some fine work is produced here but plenty of good conversation and a cuppa are on offer too.

Hatchlings Parent and Toddler Group.

Meets every Friday from 10.30am to Midday. A busy and friendly group of parents and their little ones from the village and beyond.

Highside Singers – Tuesdays – 7.30pm

The Highside Singers are a mixed voice choir of 35 - 40 enthusiasts who rehearse each Tuesday evening in the village between September and March. The choir was founded in 1984 when seven Church and Chapel members met together to practise Christmas carols. More singers joined and now members travel from Ripon, Harrogate, Boroughbridge and Nidderdale. New members are welcome. Christmas and Spring concerts are given in aid of various charities.

Women’s Bright Hour – Wednesdays – 2.15pm (fortnightly)

A good opportunity to meet together, hear a variety of interesting speakers in a devotional setting with a good Methodist cuppa thrown in for good measure!

Knitters & Natterers - 1st Thursday of the month 1.30pm - 3.30pm (starting again on 4th September 2008)

This group is, as the name suggests, a chance to "knit and natter"! Various articles are made for charities.

Small teddies are made for the Trauma Unit at Ripon Hospital so that children have something to cling on to in an unfamiliar, and often frightening, situation.

Cot blankets are made and sent abroad.

Even if you do not want to, or can't, knit there are always ways to assist; for example a cup of tea is always most welcome and there is plenty of conversation!
