Kirkby Malzeard is a forward looking school which provides
an excellent education for around 90 pupils aged between 4 and 11 years
of age in four classes. Most of the children come from Kirkby Malzeard,
Laverton and Dallowgill, but a number come from outside of the catchment
area.
Our school ethos is:
Christian community
Achievement
Respect for others
Excellence and enjoyment
This is incorporated in our mission, "to create a stimulating learning
environment in which the full potential of all pupils is realised. This
is achieved through the high quality teaching from a well qualified
and motivated professional staff in sympathy with the teachings of the
Church of England."
We offer a rich, broad and balanced curriculum which is enhanced by
many extra curricular activities. We are extremely proud of our new
library, which was officially opened by children's author, Wes Magee,
in February 2004. The library provides a valuable resource which can
be enjoyed by all and it augments the learning of our children.
A further project has now been completed - the development of the ICT
suite in the old school has been officially opened.
After our very successful "Multi-Cultural Week"
in the Autumn, we are already planning our "Science & Technology
Week" for early March 2008.
We work closely with the independent pre-school which shares the school
site - which enables the children to become familiar with our school
and the staff.
We are fortunate to have strong links with a thriving and supportive
community. Please feel welcome to call in and visit us.
